Vanilla Chai Baked Oatmeal (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Porridge

01 - 1 cup steel cut oats
02 - 2/3 cup toasted pecans, finely chopped
03 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup
04 - 2 teaspoons chai spice mix
05 - Pinch of salt
06 - ½ cup raisins (optional)
07 - 2 cups milk
08 - ½ cup cream or substitute with more milk
09 - 2 teaspoons vanilla
10 - 2 tablespoons butter, melted

→ Cinnamon Sugar Topping

11 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
12 - ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9- or 10-inch round baking dish. A deep dish pie plate works well.
02 - In a large bowl, combine the steel cut oats, toasted pecans, maple syrup, chai spice mix, salt, and raisins.
03 - Pour in the milk, cream, vanilla, and melted butter into the dry mixture. Stir well to combine.
04 - Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and level the top.
05 - Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the porridge mixture.
06 - Place the dish in the center of the oven and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
07 - Remove from the oven, portion into bowls, and serve with desired toppings such as milk, cream, maple syrup, or fresh fruit.

# Notes:

01 - You can substitute rolled oats for steel cut oats, but reduce the baking time to 30-40 minutes as they cook faster.
