Sweet Air Fryer Churro Bites (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 240 ml water
02 - 90 g unsalted butter
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
05 - 125 g plain flour
06 - 1 large egg
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

→ Coating

08 - 200 g granulated white sugar
09 - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

# Instructions:

01 - In a saucepan over high heat, combine water, unsalted butter, salt, and granulated sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil.
02 - Once boiling, reduce the heat to low. Gradually add plain flour while stirring continuously until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a cohesive ball. Remove from heat.
03 - Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and let it cool for 4–5 minutes. Add the large egg and vanilla essence. Using an electric hand mixer, blend until the mixture is smooth.
04 - Fill a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle with the churro dough. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C. Lightly spray the basket with neutral nonstick spray.
05 - Pipe bite-sized pieces of dough directly onto the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece. Alternatively, drop spoonfuls of dough if preferred. Lightly brush the tops with melted butter. Air fry at 190°C for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
06 - In a shallow bowl, combine granulated white sugar and ground cinnamon. Immediately after cooking, transfer the hot churro bites into the cinnamon sugar and gently toss to coat evenly. If needed, brush lightly with melted butter or mist with water to help the sugar coating adhere.
07 - Serve the churro bites warm, accompanied by optional dips such as chocolate sauce, honey, or hazelnut spread.

# Notes:

01 - For best texture, allow the dough to cool slightly before adding the egg to prevent curdling.
02 - Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket, as this ensures even cooking and crispness.
