Salisbury Steak (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb ground beef (500g).
02 - 1/2 onion, grated.
03 - 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs.
04 - 1 garlic clove, minced.
05 - 1 egg.
06 - 2 tbsp ketchup.
07 - 1 beef bouillon cube.
08 - 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce.
09 - 3 tsp dijon mustard.
10 - 5 oz mushrooms (150g).
11 - 2 tbsp butter.
12 - 3 tbsp flour.
13 - 2 cups beef broth.
14 - Extra Worcestershire and mustard for gravy.

# Instructions:

01 - Grate onion over breadcrumbs and let soak. Mix with remaining patty ingredients until slightly pasty.
02 - Shape into 5 oval patties about 3/4 inch thick, pressing firmly.
03 - Cook patties 1 minute per side until browned. Remove from pan.
04 - Cook onions, garlic and mushrooms. Make roux with butter and flour. Add broth and seasonings.
05 - Return steaks to gravy and cook 5-7 minutes until gravy thickens and meat is done.

# Notes:

01 - Grated onion makes tender patties.
02 - Mix meat well for good texture.
03 - Serve over mashed potatoes.
