Toast pecans in skillet until fragrant and lightly browned. Cool and reserve some for garnish.

Combine cheese, onion, mayonnaise, cayenne and cooled pecans until well mixed.

Shape mixture into ring on serving plate. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

Let stand 30 minutes at room temperature. Add preserves to center and garnish with reserved pecans.
