Traditional Italian Torrone (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 340g honey
02 - 200g sugar
03 - 60ml water
04 - 2 egg whites
05 - 100g toasted almonds
06 - 100g toasted pistachios or mixed nuts
07 - 1 tsp vanilla extract or citrus zest

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Toast almonds or mixed nuts for 8-10 minutes.
02 - Heat honey in a saucepan until it reaches 120°C.
03 - Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat to 150°C.
04 - Beat egg whites to soft peaks, then slowly add the hot honey.
05 - Add the sugar syrup, then fold in toasted nuts and vanilla extract or zest.
06 - Pour into a parchment paper lined dish, and press evenly. Let set for 4 hours.
07 - Cut into pieces and serve or store.

01 - Use a mix of nuts for a more complex flavor.
02 - Add a touch of cocoa powder or cinnamon for a unique twist.
03 - Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
