Preheat the oven to 325°F and grease an 8½ x 4½-inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and honey. Then whisk in the eggs, mashed banana, milk, and vanilla until well combined.

In a separate bowl, mix together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Add any desired toppings. If using sliced banana as a topping, slice it lengthwise and place it on top of the batter, cut-side up.

Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the banana bread cool in the loaf pan for 15 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
