Honey Almond Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cake

01 - 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
04 - 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
05 - 1 cup granulated sugar
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla paste or extract
07 - 1 teaspoon almond extract
08 - 3 large eggs, room temperature and whisked
09 - 1 cup almond flour, finely ground
10 - 1/3 cup sliced almonds

→ Honey Syrup

11 - 1/3 cup honey
12 - 1/3 cup water

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease 8-inch cake pan and line with parchment paper round.
02 - Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
03 - Cream butter and sugar for 2 minutes. Add extracts, then slowly add whisked eggs.
04 - Mix in dry ingredients on low, then fold in almond flour by hand. Spread in pan and top with sliced almonds.
05 - Bake 28-35 minutes until toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
06 - Make honey syrup by heating honey and water. Pour over hot cake and let soak 20 minutes before removing from pan.

03 - Syrup should be poured slowly to allow absorption
