Homemade Sweet Onion Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 200 g granulated sugar
02 - 120 ml water
03 - 90 ml white vinegar
04 - 22 ml red wine vinegar
05 - 7 g freshly grated onion
06 - 8 g cornstarch
07 - 12 g Dijon mustard
08 - 6 g mustard powder

→ Seasonings

09 - 4 g poppy seeds
10 - 2.5 ml sesame oil
11 - 2 g onion powder
12 - 2.5 g salt
13 - 0.5 g garlic powder
14 - 0.5 g celery seed
15 - 0.5 g smoked paprika
16 - 0.5 g ground black pepper

# Instructions:

01 - Place all measured ingredients into a medium saucepan.
02 - Whisk constantly while bringing the saucepan to a gentle boil. Continue boiling for 5 minutes, maintaining constant stirring to prevent sticking.
03 - Reduce the heat and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, whisking continuously until the sauce thickens.
04 - Remove the pan from heat, allow the sauce to cool fully, and then transfer to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 1 week.

01 - Customize sweetness level by reducing sugar or substituting with alternative sweeteners.
02 - Excellent as a salad dressing or as a marinade for vegetables and proteins.
03 - Sauce will thicken further as it cools.
