Grate the onion into a large bowl. Add ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, cream, and egg. Mix until combined. Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape into ¾ inch (2 cm) thick patties. Set aside.
02 -
Finely chop the onion, mince the garlic, and chop the dill.
03 -
Heat olive oil and butter over medium in a large skillet. Cook hamburger steaks for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to a clean plate.
04 -
Reduce skillet heat to low. Add garlic and onion, cooking until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Stir in salt, pepper, and flour until incorporated. Add chicken broth and simmer for 2 minutes, scraping the skillet bottom.
05 -
Add heavy cream and dill to the skillet. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Return hamburger steaks to the skillet and simmer for 5-6 minutes, ensuring they are heated through. Garnish with dill and freshly ground pepper.
