Best Rich Chocolate Sorbet (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 2 1/3 cups water
02 - 1 cup sugar or granulated erythritol or xylitol
03 - 3/4 cup Dutch cocoa powder
04 - 1/8 teaspoon salt

→ Optional Add-Ins

05 - 6 ounces chocolate chips or finely chopped chocolate
06 - 1 tablespoon vodka or liqueur of choice
07 - 1/4 teaspoon instant coffee or pure peppermint or vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - If using an ice cream machine, prepare it ahead of time according to the instructions for your specific brand and model. Alternatively, follow instructions for making sorbet without an ice cream maker.
02 - Combine half of the water with the sugar in a medium saucepan over high heat. Stir frequently until the sugar dissolves.
03 - Whisk in the salt and cocoa powder. Bring the mixture to a boil, then stir continuously for 30 seconds.
04 - Remove from heat and stir in optional chocolate and alcohol, if using. Mix until the chocolate melts completely.
05 - Stir in the remaining water. Chill the mixture in the fridge or freezer until cold.
06 - Pour the cold mixture into an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer's directions. Eat immediately, or freeze for about 30 minutes for a firmer texture.

# Notes:

01 - For a firmer texture, allow the sorbet to freeze for an additional 30 minutes after churning.
