In a large skillet over medium-high heat, drizzle a generous amount of olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced chicken sausage. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional minute until both sides are browned.

Add broccoli to the skillet and season with a large pinch of kosher salt and ground black pepper. Cook for 5 minutes until the broccoli becomes bright green and slightly tender.

Add minced garlic and orzo pasta to the pan. Stir everything together and cook for another minute.

Pour in the chicken broth and stir. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover the skillet and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the orzo is soft and the liquid is absorbed.

Stir in the shredded parmesan cheese until well combined. Serve immediately and sprinkle additional parmesan cheese if desired.
