Simmer cherries with 2 tablespoons water for 3-5 minutes until soft. Gently mash.

Steep Earl Grey in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Remove tea bag or strain.

Add milk and optional cinnamon stick to cherries, heat gently while stirring.

Add vanilla syrup to milk mixture, adjust to taste.

Pour tea into mug, strain in milk-cherry mixture, pressing cherries to extract juice.

Serve hot or pour over ice for cold version. Optionally garnish with cherry or cinnamon.
