Cherry Christmas Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened.
02 - 1 cup powdered sugar.
03 - 1 large egg.
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
05 - 2¼ cups all-purpose flour.
06 - 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans).
07 - 2 cups candied cherries.

# Instructions:

01 - Cream butter and sugar, then add egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, nuts and cherries.
02 - Roll dough into two logs and wrap in plastic.
03 - Refrigerate dough logs for 1 hour.
04 - Preheat oven to 325°F.
05 - Cut dough into ¼-inch thick rounds.
06 - Bake 13-15 minutes until edges set and barely golden.

01 - Use room temperature butter.
02 - Chilling makes slicing easier.
03 - Cool completely before storing.
