Balsamic Honey Roasted Pears (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 large slightly underripe pears, halved and cored, skin-on
02 - 2 teaspoons unsalted butter
03 - 3 tablespoons high-quality balsamic vinegar
04 - 4 teaspoons runny honey, plus extra to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 200°C.
02 - Halve and core the pears, leaving the skin intact.
03 - Melt butter in a cast iron skillet or other ovenproof heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
04 - Place pear halves cut side down in the pan and sauté for 2 minutes.
05 - Transfer the pan to the oven and roast pears for 20 minutes.
06 - Carefully flip the pear halves and drizzle the balsamic vinegar evenly over the fruit. Roast for an additional 5 minutes.
07 - Remove pan from oven and drizzle each pear half with honey. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
08 - Serve warm, spooning pan juices over the pears and adding more honey if desired.

01 - Select slightly underripe pears for optimal texture, as ripe pears may become overly soft when roasted.
