Almond Meltaway Cookies Recipe (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour.
02 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
03 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
04 - 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature.
05 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar.
06 - 1 large egg.
07 - 2 teaspoons almond extract.
08 - 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing).
09 - 1-2 tablespoons milk (for icing).
10 - 1 teaspoon almond extract (for icing).

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheet with parchment. Whisk together dry ingredients.
02 - Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and almond extract. Mix in flour mixture gradually.
03 - Roll tablespoons of dough into circles and press into disks.
04 - Bake 8 minutes (will look pale). Rest 5 minutes on sheet then cool completely.
05 - Whisk powdered sugar, milk and almond extract until smooth.
06 - Ice cooled cookies and let set 10 minutes until hardened.
