Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8” springform or 8” round cake pan with cooking spray.

Spread sliced almonds on a small baking tray. Toast for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool.

In a medium bowl, mix almond flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a larger bowl, whisk together eggs, maple syrup, oil, vanilla extract, and almond extract until smooth.

Stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until smooth.

Pour batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle toasted almonds evenly over the top.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan.

Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar and optionally add more raw almond slices.
