01 -
Wash and dry your strawberries thoroughly. Remove the stems and slice them into even pieces about ¼ inch thick. Consistent thickness helps them cook evenly.
02 -
Arrange the strawberry slices in a single layer in your air fryer basket or tray, making sure they don't overlap. You'll likely need to work in batches depending on your air fryer size.
03 -
Lightly mist the strawberry slices with cooking spray. This helps them crisp up nicely. Don't drench them - just a light coating does the trick.
04 -
Set your air fryer to 180°F (82°C) and cook the strawberry slices for 15 minutes. The low temperature is important - we're essentially dehydrating the berries, not cooking them at high heat.
05 -
Open the air fryer and carefully flip each strawberry slice. Return to the air fryer and cook for another 25 minutes at the same temperature (180°F).
06 -
Your strawberries should be significantly dried and slightly crisp around the edges but still have some flex to them. If they're still too moist, add another 5-10 minutes of cooking time.
07 -
Continue the process with any remaining batches of strawberry slices until all are dried to your liking.
08 -
Allow the strawberries to cool completely before enjoying. They'll continue to crisp up a bit as they cool.
